Peter Mahony – a brief C.V.
2009 Peter held several information sessions across Central Queensland about the implications for landholders of the State Government’s proposed moratorium on regrowth control. A move to tell the true story of Australia’s food and fibre producers' role in environmental management gained momentum with Peter a key driver and one of the founding members of Lifesource which helped overturn destructive government policies.
2004 – 2009 Peter and Nikki established Oxtrack Cattle Co. to run cattle profitably, to manage the land well and to develop a strong business that would provide a great environment in which to raise a family. As a small business without other full time employees they have been responsible for day-to-day farming, cattle handling, infrastructure (fences, sheds, pipelines) as well as management decisions (marketing, finance and employees).
2005-2009 Peter and his sister Claire Barrett established AXM Research Pty. Ltd. www.axm.com.au A consultancy specialising in Environmental and GIS (mapping) services. It has since diversified to offer services in employment, mining rehabilitation and farm planning and expanded its staff to ten people. Peter has been Managing Director of the business responsible for general strategy, finance and marketing as well as providing specialised skills in vegetation mapping and farm planning.

2002 Peter organised an "Ideas Day"; a forum with guest speakers and brainstorming groups, an environment to foster different thinking; encouraging a few seeds of thought to sprout and be implemented in local businesses, to progress the community. Out of this was born (among other things) a greater appreciation for "Grey Nomads" and their potential within the community.
2001 Peter and Nikki returned to Australia for the birth of their first child and settled on ‘Woolshed’ at Theodore - Central Queensland.
